Have we lost our joy of our salvation?
Have we lost the joy of our salvation?
The first time we here these words are in Psalms 51:12 when King David says "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."
It made me start to think, do we have the Joy of our salvation? You know really have the joy of my salvation. the kind that the early church had. Where they spared no cost to share the gospel, the joy where people are drawn to the church. Do we have that Joy?
I am sad to say, I don't think we do! We look for Joy in all the wrong places. We look for joy in socal media, where on one win. In television, where if you watch it long enough you will lose alot of hope in our world. In people, in case you did not know, people change!
Or maybe it's because we have forgotten how much it Cost? Maybe we have gotten to familiar with cheap grace. And the way it makes the sacrifice less valuable!
So today we will be look at how to restore or joy of our salvation.
So the best way to restore our joy is to realize how much it cost. In Romans it says "for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. We have forgotten how much that cost, because it was not cheap!
Jesus was whipped 39 times, he was mocked and spit on, he carried a cross to where he was then nailed to, on hung on it until he die. No one made him do it, he cared so much for you that he was willing to do it for you!
If that does not bring you Joy that someone cared so much about you that they would go through that for you, nothing will.
My prayers for us is that we will regain the joy of our salvation. And that it would spread like wild fire!
