This is a question we get a lot, so today will be what the Bible says about this, but before we do that let's look at what the route of cussing came from, and why people use them.

No one really knows where curse words that came from, but it is believed that curse words generated from regular words that were used in connection with offensive topics (sexual reference, Blasphemous, disgusting objects, animal names.) So when people started to hear these words they connected them with offense.

So why do people use it?

Now that we know the root and the reason of cussing, let's see what the Bible says.

The Bible has a lot to say about words and how we should use them. It says what comes out of the mouth of a person can defile them (Matthew 15:10-11), how Blessings and curses should not come from the same mouth (James 3:10), life and death is in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:20), from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks(Luke 6:45).

So we have seen the route, the reason and what the Bible has to say. So the choice is ours, will we speak life or death?
